Multifunctionality: Writing music, rehearsing, recording and lounging
The Music Lounge is the heart of Music Writing Place because it is the key to your creative process. It is the main living room (there is a second living room in the villa), and offers a fabulous view on the surrounding country side. With its 70 square meters, it is huge. There is a Music set up that consists of microphones, a bass guitar, guitars, keyboards, a 16-channel live mixer and a small PA. A Baby Grand Piano is surrounded by some more microphones. The Inspiration Package-Instruments are at your disposal in the Music Lounge. Please also check our list of Instrument Specials and Rentals. Needless to say, that you can bring your own instruments.
Apart from being a cosy living room, the lounge has 3 main musical functions: firstly, it is the Music Writing Space of Music Writing Place. Inspiration Package and Allin Premium Package guests can spend the whole week here, writing songs. You can make yourself at home behind the baby grand and develop new material like in the old times.
Secondly it is a place for rehearsing. The monitors and the live mixer allow you to play as a group. On arrival, you pick an instruments and start playing! The Music Lounge is all set to plug in and play. During your stay, the ambience of the Music Lounge gives you the chance to play whenever and anytime you feel like it, maintaining your musical flow. Thirdly, the Music Lounge is a live room where you can record your music, because of the cable connection with the control room in the recording studio. Some workflows:
- demo recording
- recording loop improvisations
- recording musical ideas or solo writing sessions
Our audio technician will help you out. You are kindly asked to bring your own engineer for the bulk of the recordings.
What else can you do in the Music Lounge: The set up with PA also enables tryouts for a small audience. And last, but not least: don’t forget to book an extra Writing Room set up for the Music Lounge. It consists of a DAW and a studio furniture piece for 3 people. Team up and work on musical projects together.
You can get that perfect mix of inspiration and relaxation in the Music Lounge, because during the breaks you can walk out onto the terrace, have a short swim in the adjacent pool or stroll into the surrounding hills. Enjoy yourself!

Music Writing Place is located 40 minutes by car from Faro International Airport. At the end of your drive, you will follow a dirt track leading up to the enchanting environment of Music Writing Place.
